Fuming veneers adds depth in terms of color.  And although a controlled process, the outcome can yield a variable range of colors within a particular species for one simple reason – the chemical makeup of each log is different.

We believe mixing different color values together randomly not only adds visual interest, it is the ultimate in sustainable thinking, because you’re not sorting out veneers for potentially inconsistent color.  You’re allowing the mix and the natural beauty of the wood to be illustrated.

This example shows the standard variation in color you can expect from one log, even from within one flitch.  There can also be darker colors providing even more contrast.  We’ve mixed a blend of color together, with a blend of different cuts ie: flat sliced and quartered, and we’ve also mixed some book matching with some slip matching.
