Scott G. Brogan, owner and CEO of the Scott Brogan  Group, has over 30 years of experience collaborating with architects and designers. He is an expert in hardwood veneer and veneer products, and he has built an extensive global network of first-class suppliers and manufacturers, not only of veneer but also finished wood products.

Mr. Brogan’s journey in the hardwood veneer industry began after graduation from Indiana University in 1989, when philanthropists John and Rita Grunwald arranged for Mr. Brogan to apprentice in Germany with the Danzer Group. At the time, John Grunwald was president and shareholder of the Danzer owned David R. Webb Company in Edinburgh Indiana. Mr. Brogan’s main focus at the time, was to better his language abilities in German, having studied it in high school and college. Little did he know how the experience would develop.

While at Danzer, Mr. Brogan’s passion for the material quickly developed.  He trained in all stages of the manufacturing, grading and distribution processes.  As he says today, he was truly inspired by the fingerprints of nature. Upon returning to the United States, Mr. Brogan joined the David R. Webb Company in order to pursue his new found passion for wood veneer, and was transferred to the NY office in order to expand sales in the architectural market.  First focusing on NYC, Boston and Washington DC, Mr. Brogan later expanded the Danzer brand to other areas within the US as Director of Architectural Sales for Danzer Specialty Veneer.

Passionate about the beauty of the material, and seeing how the markets were changing with respect to the specification of wood veneer, Mr. Brogan decided in 2008 to branch out on his own.  In January of that year, he founded Brogan Wood Products LLC to provide his clients with a new idea.  In order to better maintain the design intent and respect for the natural resource, why not marry the material management with the production of goods for our clients?  And so, it began.

From the procurement of logs to the production of those logs into veneer under his direction; from the additional procurement of already sliced veneer found on the global market to the custom dying of veneers; from the custom production of composite veneer patterns to the actual fabrication of sheet goods, panel products and doors for the millwork trade, Mr. Brogan created a vertically integrated option, where the design intent could be maintained meticulously. Further development to Brogan Wood Products in 2010, would include using the raw, value added products it manufactured in its own production of fully finished, ready to install products.

Fascinated and inspired by materials and design, Mr. Brogan had a chance meeting with another entrepreneur in 2010. This gentleman had developed and patented a process of laminating wood veneers in glass, successfully. The patented process also allowed for the lamination of metal mesh fabrics, precious metals and a host of other materials in a very unique way. Without hesitation, Mr. Brogan suggested a partnership, using their combined talents. With obtained interest, Intermezzo LLC, the second Scott Brogan Group company was formed.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Brogan formed the management, collaborative and development threshold for the two companies, the Scott Brogan Group.
