The best logs in this species are found in Eastern PA growing north into New York State, within the Appalachian region. Secondly, Western PA north into New York State and down into West Virginia also yields beautiful veneer logs in this species.
Some special logs develop different figural qualities and different grain patterns that enhance room couture.
Shown here, quartered American Black Cherry – with NO figure. Very difficult to find this species without some hint of figure.
