General Information:

A South American wood, growing from Brazil through Bolivia and Peru, this is sometimes called White Mahogany.  Although not white at all in terms of color, it has a golden tone, but the grain pattern is similar to Mahogany.  Cerejeira also yields crotch wood, that when stain looks very similar to that of Mahogany.  In the 1960’s and early 1970’s, Cerejeira was used and white washed by many of the furniture manufacturers in the Carolina’s, as it was less expensive than Swietenia macrophylla (Honduras Mahogany).  A lovely, demure wood, it can be found flat sliced or quarter sliced on today’s market.  It stains well and dyes well.

We appreciate your visit and hope to hear from you soon!
