The growing region for this species is primarily Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast.  The wood has a pale pink to light Mahogany color and resembles a Cedar in that it has a sweet smell similar to Cedar.  It’s more commonly been used in Europe than in the US market.  The logs typically have a rolling kind of figure to them, almost like clouds varying in size.  An elegant choice, it also takes a stain very well.
