Not actually a hardwood or softwood, Bamboo belongs to a family of grasses.

It is rapidly renewable and available in the natural yellow color as well as the seasoned “carbonized” or caramelized color.

There are two distinct methods used in order to attach open strands of the grass together into the block for slicing as veneer.  The first is flat pressed, which gives you a wider “plank” look and the second is side pressed, which provides the narrower “plank” look.
