Growing region is Western US, California Coast.  Grafting Juglans nigra and Juglans californica yields veneers we typically call Claro Walnut.  Much of these trees are actually orchard grown anymore, and yield the prized walnut burl.  The coloration achieved through the graft results in adding a little pale, almost pink to the darker, more typical walnut colors.
