General Information:
This species ranges in color from a pale to deep amber color.
It is predominately found quarter sliced, because the centers of the logs are soft and the very inner-heartwood is susceptible to decay.
It typically comes with some broken ribbon stripe, but can also include other figure types such as “bees wing” and “fiddle back.”
Veneer from extremely heavy figured logs can be brittle and difficult to work with.
