Paldao grows in the Indo-China and east India region, logs of the Philippines are of more commercial value to the veneer industry.  Typically sliced on the quarter, color values in the species can range from a light grey / tan with dark interlocking striations, to a deeper brown with the same striations.  Some logs develop figural qualities such as crossfire or mottling, while others can have only a mild shimmer or be completely devoid of figure all together.
