Mozambique – Quartered

General Information:

Growing region for this species is Western Africa.  Color range can be “coffee with cream” to a deeper walnut brown.  Typically there will also be darker variegated stripes, which add to the visual appearance of the wood.  Logs can be flat sliced or quartered, with the latter being the more preferred today.  Sometimes we see logs that have developed a nice figural quality on top of the grain pattern and color mix.

We have also seen fumed versions of this species, which yield a very dark, almost espresso color.

We appreciate your visit and hope to hear from you soon!
