General Information:
The growing region for Makore is from Western Africa, Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Nigeria down through Congo, Gabon and Cameron.
Logs yield beautiful grain patterns and figure types depending on how they are sliced. They can be flat sliced, quarter sliced and rotary sliced depending on the figure and how you want to accentuate it. We have also seen Makore crotch veneer, just as in African Mahogany.
Also known as African Cherry, there is another species very similar to Makore called Moabi, although Moabi tends to be a little lighter in color.
We appreciate your visit and hope to hear from you soon!
