General Information:
Mainly found to grow in the south eastern part of the US, it is a frequently occurring species of hardwood. Most logs will be quarter sliced as veneer, and have a contrasting color tone with darker striations intermixed. The mixing sapwood with heartwood creates an almost marbled appearance, and those darker veins add even more visual interest.
Some logs do yield dimensional figure as well in the way of crossfire to broken stripe.
